Utrecht greets Dortmund
What a day! In a nutshell: a WDR camera crew travels along during a lift by ‘Iron-man’ Jurgen Scharf to Dortmund. Upon arrival we prominently position ourselves in front of City Hall. From the Friedenssaeule I sing ‘Ik laat de liefde toe’ (I allow love) live for the camera. Then the caravan door lock breaks. I hitchhike to the nearest Eriba service point at a remote industrial estate to have the caravan thoroughly checked.
Once the checkup is complete we push the caravan back to the dark snowy road, trying to get a lift back to city center. Cardboard sign and thumbs up. ‘Angel Regina Lahr’ picks us up and brings us to a restaurant (after only having had breakfast today). Passing drivers recognize the caravan from TV, blow their horn and wave at us. Finally at 23.15 the caravan is back at the Friedensplatz, completely shattered, but with enough energy to finish this blog entry. Tomorrow there will be more stories and pictures, and Bildzeitung will pay us a visit! Good night to all!
