The city of Vienna
One of the principles of caravan-hitchhiking is that you never know when, with whom you will be where. Because of that it usually takes a while to get acquainted with a certain location. Emanuella Cecchella gave us a lift in Linz the other day and said: “Please call me when you arrive in Vienna.”
So last night I was taken on a Vienna city tour. Many famous buildings passed by. What splendor and beauty! I think the word ‘Grand’ is applicable here, or better even ‘Royal’.
I was also unfamiliar with the ‘couch surfing’ phenomenon. At their internet site people can offer their ‘couch’ to travelers to sleep on. So I am now spending the night in Dominik, Elias and Georg’s student apartment in the heart of the city. A good way to get to know a place! Tomorrow morning all of us have been offered breakfast by ‘Easy Breakfast‘. I am getting such a warm welcome in Vienna that I almost forgot that I need to arrange another ride towards Hungary tomorrow.
BTW: I took the picture of Vienna Cathedral from internet. It is a lot nicer than the one I took myself.
BTW2: I met this Bolivian family at the horse-carriage taxi stand. They are so colorful that I wanted to show them to you.
